About Wamuran Country Meats

Wamuran Country Meats is a destination butcher shop known for premium produce, house-made meals, and genuine country service. Proudly family-owned and operated, the business was founded in 2011 when Anthony and Amy Carney took over the local butcher in Wamuran with a vision to build something bigger – not just a shop, but a true food experience.

What started with three staff in a modest local shop has grown into a thriving business with over 30 team members, all working together in a custom-built space on the D’Aguilar Highway. The current store, opened in 2022, is purpose-designed to deliver the very best across every part of the food offering – from the traditional gourmet butcher and seafood counter to a curated selection of smallgoods, low ‘n’ slow BBQ range, house-made condiments, and the now-famous Wamuran Country Meats hotbox.

Anthony brings more than 16 years of hands-on experience as a butcher, and together with Amy, has built a team that feels more like a family. That culture has become one of the shop’s defining features – welcoming, hardworking, and proudly local.

Today, Wamuran Country Meats is widely known across the Moreton Bay region and beyond. Customers regularly travel from surrounding towns for the butcher’s specialty cuts, rotating selection of ready-made meals, and hot food straight from the kitchen. Whether you’re planning a barbecue, looking for an easy midweek dinner, or stocking up on staples, it’s worth the drive.

The business remains deeply committed to the community that supports it – sponsoring local clubs, charities, and events wherever possible. It’s not just about great food – it’s about being part of something local, lasting, and built on care.

Wamuran Country Meats continues to set the benchmark for what a modern butcher shop can be. Family-owned. Regionally loved. Built on quality.
